QUT Basketball

Recently, I co-founded Queensland University of Technology’s official basketball club: QUT Basketball - Jaguars. As a new and growing club, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of inclusivity, community, and social connection, while also striving for competitive excellence. As the social media manager, I had the opportunity to design the club's mascot logo and executive team jerseys.

The Jaguars logo is a bold and striking emblem that encapsulates our club’s strength and competitive spirit.

Jaguar Face (Power & Precision) – The choice of a jaguar as our mascot is intentional. Jaguars symbolize agility, speed, and dominance, all of which align with the qualities we bring to the court. The intense, forward-facing gaze represents determination and focus, embodying our team’s ambition to excel. This is also reflected on the jersey with sharp bright claw marks going down each side.



Dark Blue & Orange  – The deep navy blue reflects our club colours. The  orange eyes on the mascot and claw marks on the jersey add a sense of intensity, mirroring the fire and passion our players bring to every game.

Minimalist Yet Bold Style  – The clean, geometric lines create a modern and professional aesthetic, ensuring our branding stands out both on and off the court. The minimalist approach also allows for versatility—whether on jerseys, social media, or merchandise, the logo maintains a strong and recognizable presence.

Strong Typography (Unwavering Identity) – The bold, block-style lettering used for “JAGUARS” commands attention, reinforcing the strength and presence of our club.
